Embrace the New Year with the SDPA
Dear Members,

Happy New Year! I hope your holiday season was filled with laughter, joy, and cherished moments with family and friends. As we slowed down over the holidays, I trust you found time to relax, regroup, and reflect on the past year. Now, stepping into January 2025, I extend my warmest wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling year ahead. This is an exciting time for new beginnings, fresh goals, and renewed commitment to our vital work as Dermatology Physician Associates.
As your President, I am eager to welcome you into the new year and want to take this opportunity to highlight the incredible value of your SDPA membership and the benefits available to you:
1. Access to Exclusive Educational Resources: Members can access a wealth of educational materials, including webinars, online courses, and recorded lectures from leading experts in dermatology. This provides great opportunities to enhance your knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in our field. I am also excited to announce that we are offering a brand new “Itch Conference” March 27th-March 28th in Charlotte, NC, in addition to our summer and fall conferences that you have come to know and love. Led by world-renowned experts, this is an educational opportunity not to miss!
2. Advocacy and Representation: As a member, your voice is amplified through our advocacy efforts. We work diligently to represent the interests of Physician Associates in dermatology at both the state and national levels. In fact, the SDPA recently hired a new staff member, Killian Lozach, as the Director of Advocacy and Government Relations. We are more committed than ever to advancing our profession and supporting your practice, and this is just another demonstration of our commitment to invest in our members.
3. Networking Opportunities: Join fellow professionals through SDPA Connect, conferences, and workshops. Networking is essential for professional growth, and we encourage you to build relationships for collaborative opportunities. We are here to provide these platforms for our members.
4. Subscription to Our Journal: Stay informed with the latest research and trends in dermatology through your subscription to the JDPA. This resource is invaluable for keeping your practice informed and evidence-based. Our peer-reviewed and indexed journal, now published by Wolters Kluwer, also offers an excellent opportunity for publishing! We are always looking for new authors and encourage our members to step forward with their original research, article or case studies.
5. Discounts on Events, Courses and Services: Enjoy discounted rates for conferences and other CME offerings. Take advantage of these opportunities to learn from thought leaders in the field while also saving on professional development costs, with the understanding that we reinvest your dollars back into you. Many companies also offer discounts on products and services exclusively for our members.
As we look ahead to 2025, I encourage each of you to take full advantage of these membership benefits and seek out new ways to engage with the SDPA. Together, we can advance our profession and ultimately improve patient care in dermatology.
Thank you for being a part of our community and always remember that the SDPA is your professional home. Your dedication and hard work are what make our society thrive. Here’s to a successful and impactful year!
Warm regards,

Amber Blair MMS, PA-C
President, SDPA
