Society of Dermatology Physician Associates Celebrates National PA Week

Honoring the Essential Role of Physician Associates in Dermatology

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia October 7, 2024 - The Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA) proudly celebrates National Physician Associate (PA) Week from October 6-12, 2024, recognizing the indispensable contributions of PAs in delivering high-quality healthcare, particularly in dermatology. This week serves as a special opportunity to highlight the critical role DermPAs™ play in patient care, from diagnosing and treating skin conditions to educating patients on preventative care and skincare routines.

PAs are highly trained medical professionals who work closely with physicians to provide comprehensive healthcare. In dermatology, DermPAs™ are key players, managing a wide range of skin conditions and helping improve patient access to specialized care. Their role in patient care is not only vital but also appreciated by countless patients who rely on their expertise.

“National PA Week is a time to acknowledge and appreciate the remarkable work that PAs do across the country,” said Amber Blair, SDPA President. “PAs bring expertise, compassion, and personalized care to their patients every day, and this week is an opportunity to celebrate their contributions to the healthcare community.”

To celebrate PA Week, SDPA encourages members and the public to show their appreciation and engage with the following activities:

5 Ways to Celebrate PA Week:

1. Show Appreciation – Drop off a thank-you card or thoughtful gift for a PA you appreciate.

2. Hug a PA – Give a PA a hug! Take a photo, tag or email it to SDPA to be featured in our upcoming PA Celebration Week.

3. Contact Your Legislators – Email your state legislators and encourage them to recognize PA Week and the important role PAs play in healthcare.

4. Share a Success Story – Share how a PA has made a difference in your life. Thank them publicly through social media or email and tag SDPA.

5. Write a Google Review for a PA – Leave a glowing review for a PA who has provided excellent care and let others know about your positive experience.
