Experienced DermPA™ and Advocate for Dermatology, Education and Patient Care Assumes Presidency

Alexandria, VA, July 1, 2024 – North Carolina-based dermatology Physician Associate Amber Blair, MMS, PA-C, today assumed the role of president, Society of Dermatology Physician Associates Board of Directors. Blair, a DermPA™ with Dermatology, Laser and Vein Specialists of the Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina, will serve a one-year term leading the 10-member board.

We stand committed to providing exceptional resources to ensure all DermPAs™ are supported throughout their entire careers, equipped to deliver superior patient care and distinguished as integral members of the healthcare team.”

Blair brings over two decades of healthcare experience to her current role, with a diverse background and a passion for dermatology that is impressive. As a dedicated advocate for the profession, in addition to her clinical practice she has contributed numerous articles to peer reviewed dermatology journals, served as an educator for her colleagues, developed educational programming for dermatology professionals and served as a sub-investigator for clinical trials.

In 2016, Blair became involved with the SDPA, hosting Dermcast TV. She subsequently was appointed as the publication and communications committee chair and later elected to a position on the board as director at large, where she served for three years.  Amber went on to serve as Secretary Treasurer for the organization before being elected to the position of President.

Blair graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida’s Cardiopulmonary Science Program in Orlando, Florida, and subsequently worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Arnold Palmer Hospital. She earned her master’s in medical science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University, in Orlando, Florida graduating cum laude and quickly found her home in Dermatology.
